Nao Gunji is a sound artist who also maintains an electronic music production career.

 

As a sound artist, his work ranges from parody/performance problematizing club culture, speaker-based sound sculptures, motorized kinetic sculptures, as well as sonic improvisation using self-invented objects and electronics.

 

As a dance music producer, he has had releases on West End Records, King Street Sounds, Nite Grooves, Soundmen on Wax, Third Ear Records, and A_A.

He holds an MFA in Sonic Arts from Brooklyn College, and has studied composition with David Grubbs and Marina Rosenfeld.
